Rays of Light in Copenhagen

For some reasons, the rays of light from the sun during the afternoon or morning is like so powerful in Copenhagen. Maybe its the contrast between the dark clouds and the light. Heheh, anyway, enjoy!

Hereford Village Steakhouse, Copenhagen

Was lucky enough that the team had a group dinner at Hereford Village which is located on the main shopping street of Copenhagen, Stroget. Its on the 2nd floor and I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of the place, guess was already too hungry. The place is pretty big and can easily fit like 150 people and we were all seated on a long table which was nice. The lighting and atmosphere was very relaxing with the soft moody lighting. So the items I had here was a Smirnoff and BBQ Pork Ribs. There was of course lots of steaks which looks really good. The rib were large but a little tough, and not like dropping off the bone like how I really like it. But all in all, it was a good experience here! Do check out this place and their website is here http://www.herefordvillage.dk/ Seems like they have some eat all you can promotions too!

Nasi Pattaya ~ Apple's Kitchen

So today I have a special review. Nasi Pattaya from Apple's Kitchen. For those who are not familiar with Apple's Kitchen, do check out this blog here. http://shmily1314apple.blogspot.com/

OK, for the new folks reading here, she is my wife of course. And on this day, she made Nasi Pattaya. So what exactly is Nasi Pattaya? Well, it is actually pretty simple, fried rice wrapped in egg. Sounds easy but the hardest part is probably making the nice fried egg and then wrapping it.
As you can see, she even decorated it for my daughter and she finished it all!
Homemade food with lots of love, just can't get enough of it!

Dinner at Sukiyaki Japanese Restaurant, Copenhagen

As mentioned previously, I also had the opportunity to dine at Sukiyaki which has the same owner as Restaurant Kyoto. Sukiyaki is located not far from the central station and its just a walking distance away. Its tucked on the first floor and its a pretty spacious place with different sections which includes teppanyaki. Well, one of the highlights or I should say the speciality here is that they have lobster on their menu. Thus lets proceed shall we. Leave comments as usual ya!

This is the English language website http://sukiyaki.dk/html/uk_forside.html

Dinner at Restaurant Kyoto at Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel Copenhagen

Resturant Kyoto is a Japanese restaurant that was conveniently located at the hotel which I stayed at, Radisson Blu Scandinavia. The Japanese restaurant I understand is one of the oldest in Copenhagen and they also have another branch called Sukiyaki in downtown which I will write later as I also had a chance to dine there.
Since this was my first day in Copenhagen and we spend the entire afternoon walking about, we were pretty tired and thus decided to just eat at the most convenient place. Thus thats why we chose this place.
We were also pretty full and so we just ordered a few items, namely their sushi platter, miso soup, gyoza and also a fried soft tofu. More below ya.

The miso soup. This was really good and refreshing. If I remembered correctly, I think there were no bits of seaweed or tofu inside, which I so love.
The sushi platter. A really good spread for sushi. Only after ordering this did John mention he doesn't like raw items. LOL. So me and Khairruz ate most of it I guess. Its really good and this is how sushi is suppose to be, the slices of fish is large and well cut with the grain. See how the fish slice is actually larger that the rice ball? Wish all sushi in Malaysia is like this and not skimp on the quantity and quality.

Estate Coffee : Copenhagen

After a long and tiring day, it was time to find a place to just chill and relax. What better way than to have a hot cup of yummy coffee and my colleagues were nice enough to recommend Estate Coffee. This little boutique coffee outlet serves their own blend of coffee beans from various estates around the world thus the name.
There are a few selections to choose from and we had a Mochachino as well as warm chocolate. The coffee is really brewed well and very flavorful and each cup also comes with a piece of chocolate as a compliment. I guess it goes well with the slight bitter taste of coffee right?
For those seeking a great cup of coffee in Copenhagen that is also affordable, do check out Estate Coffee ya. For those who have been there, do share your comments too!

Growing up is challenging!

A few weeks back, I took some capsicum seeds and threw them in a pot and lo a behold, after a few weeks, many tiny baby capsicum trees have sprouted! Yay. I guess its really challenging for them, all squeezed into a small pot. I will need to start picking some of them out to let the healthier ones grow bigger. For now, just enjoy a few snippets of them growing up!

Spice Market Cafe Brunch Merdeka Promotion: BUY 1 FREE 1, Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa Penang

In conjunction with the 54th Merdeka Celebrations in Malaysia, Spice Market Cafe which is located at Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa Penang is having a fabulous offer for their Sunday Brunch! And the promotion that they have is non other than a buy 1 FREE 1 promotion! YES thats right. For just RM80++ for adult and RM40++ for children, one can now enjoy them with more people.
It has always been my hope that I can dine in one of the finest restaurant in Penang and I was lucky enough to be invited this weekend for a review of their Sunday Brunch. As I reached Rasa Sayang, I saw the sign board which says Spice Market Cafe and thus I parked my car nearest to the entrance. Then when I walk in, realize that I was in the wrong wing and that the Spice Market Cafe is actually situated at the Garden Wing of Rasa Sayang. So, for those heading here, just give the security personnel a holler and ask for the Spice Market Cafe or the Garden Wing.
The really nice thing about Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa in Penang is the lush greenery that covers the area. As you enter the car park, the rain  trees provide a natural shade. This is again repeated in the garden within the hotel which surrounds the pool area. I would guess the trees here are hundreds of years old based on the size of it. As I arrived slightly early, I decided to walk around a take some snaps of the surrounding area. It would really be a amazing experience staying here as the garden provides some privacy and its very well maintained. Then there is also the beach which is just a stone throw away. With the sounds of breaking waves and the sea breeze, its no wonder that many flock to Rasa Sayang for their getaway!
I will be writing about the food and experience at Spice Market Cafe as well as abit on Rasa Sayang itself. I will also share abit about their Spa, named Chi, as we were lucky enough to be shown about there as well as about their spa concept. So do read on and as always, leave any comments ya. Once again, thanks to Gourmet Garden and also Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa for the opportunity. Its a long post, so do be patient with the loading.

YourFoodReview.com Launch Party @Weissbrau, Straits Quay Penang

Today is the launch of YourFoodReview.com which is the new name for Qyzzy.com. So Qyzzy.com is now rebranded with their new name and I was fortunate to be invited to their event at Weissbrau German  Bistro & Bar at Straits Quay, Penang today. At first thought that it would be a small event but when I arrived, it was a very grand celebration happening.
Seems like even the CM of Penang was invited but I guess he could not attend and thus in his place is YB Danny Law. There was some delay to the event start time as it was suppose to be at 11.30am but started more like 12.30pm. So what is this all about? Well, the launch was also about YourFoodReview.com having an iPhone App. Yes, they have a great foodie tool for those looking to find good food from your local peeps like me. Hahaha.
So today they have a few partners for the launch and even DiGi was there harping their iPhone4 plans. How I wish there were some extra special promos for it. But nonetheless, a successful launch party and last but not least, I also collected my prize of the CSL Spice Mi700 Droidpad from the lucky draw held by Qyzzy. Thanks alot to Qyzzy and also CSL for this. Will be writing about the Droidpad soon ya. So below are the pictures and drop some comments. Congratulations again to Vin Lim, Terry Tan, Lau Yee of Qyzzy! Wish you all the best and keep it up!

A continuation of a walk around Copenhagen

So after the lunch at Nyhavn Harbour, its time to stroll around Copenhagen town. As I walk along the streets, these are the images which I saw and encountered. Really have to thank Chun Har and Tommy for leading me and my friends around and they really know the route well (I think this is because she is like the de facto tour guide for Penangites). So enjoy the pictures below and do leave comments ya
