Xixi Chinese Restaurant, Holiday Inn Guangzhou City Centre

Right at the Holiday Inn Guangzhou City Centre where I stayed, there is actually a pretty popular Chinese Restaurant which serves some nice Dim Sum daily. Its also a good thing that there was 3 of us and thus we were able to order a number of Dim Sum as the portion of each variety is pretty big. The restaurant probably has close to 50 table and when we arrived about 7.45am it was already pretty pack but we still managed to get a seat. The ordering is via the standard piece of paper to select what you want with a tick but since I can't read, I just told the waitress what I wanted. So, do have a look and see if its different to have Dim Sum in Guangzhou than somewhere else.

This is an item I have not had before. Its actually red dates cake, and its like a jello texture. Actually did not think of ordering this but I saw so many tables having it and asks for the same thing. Its not overly sweet and you can really taste the red dates flavor in it. Also, its served warm and not cold.
Phoenix clawa. The chicken feet here is different than those in Malaysia in that the chicken feet has not been pre-fried. The ones here are stewed instead.

Trip to Sabah 2012 - Horizon Hotel

This was the hotel which I stayed at while visiting KK. Its a relatively new hotel called Horizon Hotel and its located pretty much in the middle of the town. Its a 10 minutes walk to most attractions like the Filipino Market, Handicraft Center, Gaya Sunday market and many more. Thus not a bad choice. The rooms were still new but my only gripe is that they only supply each room with 1 key card which you need to access the lifts. The on hand staff would assist to get you to the floor but its just such a hassle needing to get their assistance each time especially if there is more than 1 person sharing the room. Anyway, they have pretty good amenities like gym, pool and restaurants thus I'm not sure if they are 4 or 5 stars. Another thing would be the internet connection. The rooms has internet free via a cable but not wireless. For wireless, you need to loan a router from their reception and its a first come first serve as they have limited units available. In this modern age, I would guess everyone was expecting wireless internet for every room (phones can't use a cable anyway). Thus, other than some of the items lacking, its a comfortable hotel. Do check out some photos!

How it looks. Its the grey building block in the middle of town!
The in house cafe! Able to fit over 80 people at one time. A nice comfortable setting for all

Typical Breakfast at Hilton Singapore

This post entry is about the breakfast I had at Hilton Singapore at Orchard Road. Breakfast was complimentary with the room and there is 2 locations for the breakfast. One at the Executive Lounge at the 22 floor and the other at the cafe at the ground floor. Similar food but the Lounge served a more typical American breakfast whereas the cafe has a better variety!

This is my typical mean. Muffin, smoked salmon, dim sum, sausages, poached egg and chicken salami.

Breakfast at Gopeng!

On Christmas of 2011, my family and I were at Gopeng and thus we managed to have breakfast at the local market foodcourt. Among the famous items here were the noodles "Lai Fun" and also the chicken porridge. We had the noodles as the chicken porridge seller was not exactly the friendly kind and its really tough to even order a bowl from him.
Back to this place, its located at N4.475765,E101.167906 for GPS coordinates and there is ample parking thus this should not be a problem. As we woke up late, we reach there about 10.30am for breakfast...lol. Anyway, this is a covered foodcourt and there is also ample tables. But we chose to sit outside under the tree, much cooler and relaxing than inside. So keep reading ya and if you happen to drop by Gopeng, you can try this place out. Since this is my first post on my blog for 2012, Happy New Year all foodies and fans!

The outside of the foodcourt! Colorful umbrellas

Finally in Copenhagen

So after spending nearly 30 hours on the road, transits and flights, finally reach the hotel and check in. Few photos of the room. Its abit disappointing for the price for Asians I guess. But, luckily I'm not paying for it. Paying 5 stars for a 3 star room :p Look at the TV, still a 21" CRT, luckily got high speed internet. Slept like a pig and was shock to wake up in early morning to find that its still only 4am but the sun was like that of the afternoon. Apparently its summer and the sunrise is at 2.30am. HAHHAA

 My room....
 Small bed
 Pitiful TV
 Toilet
 Bathtub
 The simple soap and shampoo
 View from my room
Luckily is a nice view of the city
Then went for late breakfast. Sadly, everyday also exactly same food. The chef got such an easy job. Seems like smoke salmon and sausages is like standard meal. Ham is there too with mushrooms
These mini pumpkin is for deco only
Fruit blend, slightly burnt pancake and sausages
 Some watermelons
 Sausage and tomato
There was a lemon tree in the cafe
Look at that, real lemon on a tree
