NEW YORK 2013 ~ Sakura Japanese Restaurant

Its just kind of a coincidence that I stopped by a number of Japanese places while in New York. Guess some of these food just appeals to me more than burger and fries. So this is some food pictures from Sakura Japanese Restaurant which was a place I found on my GPS device while I was at Riverhead, Long Island. I would say the food is just average and their sashimi are nothing to shout about.
Just enjoy the pictures and my comments on each on of them.

To start of, this was grilled bacon with scallops which was really nice. I liked the fact that the bacon gave the scallops some fat and at the same time protecting the scallops from getting burned. Nice

Sun with Moon in Singapore

Those that are familiar with the Japanese eating places in Singapore would have surely heard of Sun with Moon before I'm sure! From what I have read, this one which is at Wheelock Place is the original outlet and I was surprise as when I reach, there was already a small queue forming. Actually before I went, I didn't do any research and just went around trying to find a place to have lunch.
Well, as I entered the place, the first thing is that you will be escorted to your seat which is predetermined when you queue up and reach the kiosk counter. The head waiter will have someone bring you to your table and it would seem that you need to be really early to get a seat if you did not make reservations. The place was very tastefully designed and as my wife would put it, has a very zakka feel. Go google the term up! So I got a place for 1 or 2 and there was 2 person next to me whom I met while queuing. They were regulars and gave me some tips on what to order which was good. So do continue reading about my experience at Sun with Moon!

This is my lunch set! A bento of samplers!

Tatsuya for your Japanese Cuisine Fix

I guess my colleague suggested for Japanese food and I happen to ask the taxi driver which Japanese restaurant around Orchard area which is recommended and he told us that there was one at Goodwood Park Hotel. First thing that came to my mind was where is this hotel and what kind of hotel was it?
I guess Singaporeans would know but I surely didn't until we walk to the hotel and lo and behold, this is surely one expensive hotel.
So this is my recount of my dinner with colleagues at this fantastic Japanese restaurant called Tatsuya and its really a great place to experience some great Japanese food provided your pocket is deep enough.

The Sashimi platter for 4 person which costs SGD200. No doubt its one of the best sashimi platter that I have had but for SGD200, its kind of pricey. Each item you only get 1 piece or slice!
